EZCast Dongle power consumption

Postby kk » Wed Dec 02, 2015 12:16 am

My EZCast Dongle seems to use an awful lot of accu-power with my Acer Switch notebook.
I use it at school to connect with the projector and it doesn't take me through all the lessons.
Are there any settings I can change?

Dear KK:

EZCast dongle consumes less than 2.5W power, relatively small compared to laptop's battery.
Do you mean the windows laptop's power consumption when using EZCast app?
If so, it depends. It consumes power for compressing the desktop for mirroring and transmit it through WiFi.
It depends on your CPU and Graphic IC in your laptop PC.

Thanks for your understanding.

Hello,

I have the same problem. I use a Surface Pro and a friend has a Macbook. We both experience battery drain when using the app. (In fact the app seems to drain the battery even when not streaming any more)

We are testing the EZCast for school use (might buy it for the whole building) and this drain would be a dealbreaker for us. At the current rate there is no way to get through a school day with one battery load.
We are currently using Infocus Liteshows and while streaming costs battery life it's much less than with both my EZCast Pro and EZCast 5G.

Is there anything we can do to solve this problem?

Best wishes,
Melanie
